Spinal Traction is a form of decompression therapy.
Using the Traction table, our chiropractors use Traction as a therapy to help relieve pressure on the spine. Stretching the spine helps alleviate the pressure on compressed discs, it helps to straighten the spine, and in turn, improves the body's natural healing.
Our chiropractors use both Manual and Mechanical Spinal Traction to treat patients.
Manual Spinal Traction -
Our chiropractors use their hands to put patients in a state of traction. Then they use manual force on the joints and muscles to widen the spaces between the vertebrae.
Mechanical Spinal Traction -
Patients lie on a table that is designed to stretch the spine. Our chiropractors will attach a harness to your body, which is then connected to a machine that gently pulls the spine, relieving pressure and promoting healing.
Traction is commonly used to treat:
- slipped discs
- bone spurs
- degenerative disc disease
- herniated discs
- facet disease
- sciatica
- foramina stenosis
- pinched nerves
